Every year on June 21, thousands of stages appear in streets around the world to celebrate music in all its forms. This year, Amman joins the celebration. The Institut Français in Jordan, the French Embassy, and Friends of Jordan Festivals are partnering to present a special open-air edition that is free and open to all.
From giant puppet theatre to Afro-Arab electronic music, live improvisation, and an open stage for the public, the evening promises five hours of wonder in the heart of Salah Al-Din Park. Save the date: June 19, 2026.
Evening Program
5:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Archibald Caramantran
Street Performance
The evening opens with the magic of Archibald Caramantran’s giant puppets. Already beloved by Jordanian audiences after several acclaimed appearances in Amman, he returns with a new performance that transforms public space into a poetic and festive universe. Blending dance, color, and imagination, this immersive experience will delight both children and adults and set the tone for the celebration.
6:30 PM – 7:45 PM
Open Mic & IFJ Choir
Open Stage
The stage is yours! Singers, musicians, poets, and performers of all kinds are invited to take the microphone. The Choir of the Institut Français in Jordan will also lend its voice to this festive and participatory moment, embodying one of the founding principles of Music Day: music belongs to everyone.
7:45 PM – 8:30 PM
Hamboz
Live Concert
Mohammad Al-Qatnani, known as Hamboz, is one of the most distinctive voices on the Jordanian music scene. For this special evening, he joins forces with Jaafar on guitar and Ghannam on percussion to form a unique trio.
Through free improvisations and fresh interpretations of iconic pieces, the saz and oud engage in a dialogue with contemporary sound textures, creating a musical journey between nostalgia and modernity, deeply rooted in the musical identity of the Levant.
8:30 PM – 10:30 PM
Shahzen
DJ Set
The evening concludes with Shahzen, a Marseille-based DJ whose electrifying sets draw from both Arab and French musical heritage. Blending powerful percussion, electronic basslines, and traditional melodies, she creates an atmosphere that is both dance-driven and immersive—a celebration of cultural diversity beneath the stars of Amman.
